Vendredi 27 octobre, Teodorin Obiang, le fils du président de la Guinée équatoriale Teodoro Obiang Nguema, a été condamné par la justice française à une peine de trois ans de prison avec sursis et une amende de 30 millions d’euros dans le cadre du dossier des « biens mal acquis ».

Vendredi 27 octobre, la 32ème chambre du tribunal correctionnel de Paris a condamné le vice-président de la Guinée équatoriale Teodorin Obiang au motif de blanchiment d’abus de biens sociaux, d’abus de confiance, corruption et détournement de fonds publics.
Le haut dignitaire guinéen s’est constitué un patrimoine en France, immobilier notamment, avec des fonds jugés de provenance douteuse
Le procès s’était déroulé entre le 19 juin et 6 juillet. Le parquet national financier (PNF) avait requis trois ans de prison ferme et la même amende de 30 millions d’euros.
- Obiang, âgé de 48 ans, a été condamné à une peine de trois ans de prison avec sursis et une amende de 30 millions d’euros.
L’ensemble des biens immobiliers saisis au cours de l’enquête sont confisqués par ordonnance du tribunal.
Cependant, cette confiscation n’est pas applicable avant la décision de la Cour internationale de justice (CIJ).
La CIJ avait été saisie par l’État guinéen, qui ne reconnait pas la légitimité de ce procès.
En décembre 2016, la CIJ avait rendu une ordonnance qui impose l’inviolabilité immobilière à la France avant que la décision finale de La Haye ne soit connue.
Teodorin Obiang est également au centre d’une enquête en Suisse au cours de laquelle plusieurs voitures de luxes ont été saisies à Genève.
En France, le dossier des « biens mal acquis » concerne des proches de dirigeants de plusieurs pays d’Afrique.
La justice cherche à savoir si les fortunes en question n’ont pas été bâties de manière illégale.
